Tractor Raffle - Click for info
This program aims to honor individual IHC 25 member's International Harvester (IH) units that hold personal and historical significance within a family.
Eligibility Criteria:
Only units produced by International Harvester are eligible for consideration.
An eligible IH unit can include any product made by International Harvester—tractors, trucks, refrigerators, farm equipment, etc.
The unit must have been purchased new by a family member and must currently be owned by a member of the same family. The unit should have been passed down through the immediate family lineage (e.g., great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, siblings, uncles, aunts) of the original owner.
Condition of the Unit:
The unit does not need to be restored to qualify. It simply needs to be in its original form or show a clear history of use within the family.
Documentation Requirements:
To support the unit’s historical significance, the following documentation is encouraged:
The original bill of sale or invoice (ideally with the serial number) is the best evidence.
If the original bill of sale is unavailable, alternative documents such as repair invoices, the original owner’s manual (which may include the owner's name and serial number), family photos featuring the unit, and a detailed narrative history of the unit will be accepted.
While the unit's history may be difficult to fully document if it's several decades old, applicants are encouraged to provide as much detail as possible.
Selection Process:
A panel of at least five volunteer club members will review applications and supporting documentation. The panel may request further clarification if needed. After review, the panel will vote on whether the unit meets the criteria for recognition, with a majority vote determining the outcome. Note: Applicants cannot serve as members of the selection panel.
Recognition:
Award recipients will be recognized during a Chapter 25 meeting and will receive a commemorative plaque (or a similar item) to honor their heritage unit. This award can be proudly displayed alongside the recipient’s IH unit.
The recipient and their unit will also be documented in Chapter 25's official records as part of the IH Heritage Unit program.
This program celebrates the deep family connection to International Harvester products and preserves the rich history of these iconic units for future generations.
